Home Renovation Tax Credit
In addition to a 25% increase in ecoENERGY grants, the federal government also announced the The Home Renovations Tax Credit (HRTC).
The HRTC will provide a one-year, temporary 15% income tax credit (up to $1,350) on eligible home renovation expenditures for work performed, or goods acquired between January 27, 2009 and February 1, 2010. The credit may be claimed on eligible expenditures exceeding $1,000 but no more than $10,000.

Energy-Saving Tips For Summer
To assist you in having a worry-free summer, here are some easy tips you can use to save energy this summer.
REPLACE AIR CONDITIONER FILTERS - Dirty filters restrict airflow and can cause the system to run longer, increasing energy use. Replace filters monthly for maximum benefit. |
PUSH A BUTTON TO WASH YOUR DISHES - Surprise! Your dishwasher uses less water than washing dishes by hand. Then let dishes air-dry to save even more! |
FILL UP THE FRIDGE - Having lots of food in your fridge keeps it from warming up too fast when the door is open. So your fridge doesn't have to work as hard to stay cool. |
PLUG YOUR HOME'S LEAKS - Weather-strip, seal, and caulk leaky doors and windows and install foam gaskets behind outlet covers. |
